Premise
This is a roleplay/interactive fanfiction/ARG fusion website! Based on the early 2000s cartoon Danny Phantom (DP), The "character" I am roleplaying is Wesley 'Wes' Weston, a fan-created character based on a screenshot of a red-headed background character wearing a basketball uniform that looked very similar to Danny Fenton(Phantom).
The fandom then took the idea of a character looking like Danny and came up with the idea that even though Danny and Phantom are identical (because they are the same character), there are other lookalikes in town to keep Danny's identity a secret.
And as a consequence of Wes looking like Phantom (and Danny too low on the popularity scale to be considered), it would be assumed that his classmates would start to question if he was the ghostly superhero.
At some point Wes would begin to suspect Danny's identity and try to out him as Phantom so people would leave him alone, only to convince people that he was only trying to cover up his tracks.
The more Wes tries to out Danny, the more Danny messes with/pranks him, eventually leading Wess to become a full-blown conspiracy theorist (or just come across as one).
Wes's character is fascinating, considering his popularity within the DP fandom despite not being an official character. There are, of course, variations for his backstory, character, personality, etc.
I've seen some variations where his father is the secretary/assistant to Vlad Masters, where Wes is an amateur ghost hunter, where he eventually caves and becomes friends with Danny, or where he runs a blog :) I'm putting my own spin on things, so I'll be putting in every single headcannon I have.
Reason for Making This Site
This website is a love letter to the Danny Phantom community and the show. This love was nurtured from childhood to college (almost 20 years!!!) and inspired my first participation in fandom and fan creations.
I wrote my first fanfiction in my beat-up composite notebook in 4th grade. I remember reading every fanfic about DP I could get my grubby little hands on in middle school. I remember drawing purple and green doorways in my pre-calc class. I remember being so excited for the graphic novel to come out and finally have more source material. I remember the love and excitement I've always had for this series and all of the silly little stories we would write.
And I'll be able to look back at this site in a few years and remember how much fun I had creating it. I will update this page when I find out who made Wes, so stay tuned for more details!
